Vietnamese-born guitarist Harry Ngô serendipitously chose the guitar out of all other instruments offered at the age of eight. Winning his first competition in the same year, he went on to study in many schools in Vietnam and went abroad at the age of fifteen to study at Interlochen Arts Academy, finished high school and obtained a Bachelor of Music at University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) with Joseph Pecoraro, and currently studies with Benjamin Verdery to obtain his Masters at Yale School of Music.
Ngô had the chance to perform in great numbers of events and take part in many contests in different countries around the globe, including Vietnam, Thailand, Germany, and the United States. He is the winner of many competitions and festivals, including Hanoi Open Guitar Contest, Altamira Guitar Competition, and in the US: Piedmont Classical Guitar Society’s Festival, Appalachian State Guitar Festival, Greensboro’s Euterpe Scholarship Competition, and UNCSA Concerto Competition.
Ngô became a Certified Suzuki Guitar Teacher in 2021, and has served many communities around him through community engagement programs such as ArtistCorps in Winston-Salem and Music in School Initiative in New Haven. He is also a composer and has many pieces for solo, duo guitars, and chamber music.
